When the fig season starts, you should embrace it to the fullest. These deliciously sweet summer fruits are a great addition to homemade sabayon, known as zabaglione in Italy. This is a fluffy dessert made with egg yolks and Marsala wine. Due to its fresh, sweet flavor, it’s a perfect dessert during BBQ season. Whether you stand in the kitchen for hours to put an outstanding meal on the table or just keep it low-key and easy as possible, at Oil & Vinegar you’ll find everything to make your dinner special.
Two special worlds of flavor meet each other in this dish. Grilled vegetables marinated in Balsamic vinegar combine surprisingly well with spicy guacamole. Nice to know: Guacamole was already being made in the 16th century by the Aztecs and translates as 'avocado sauce'. Avocado is also the main ingredient of guacamole. Other commonly used ingredients are salt, tomato, onion, garlic, chili pepper, lemon or lemon juice and herbs. Looking for a simpler way? Mix Guacamole Dip herbs with a little olive oil, add to the mashed avocado, and voila! Bon Appetite!

Our absolute favorite. Divine intervention is the only explanation for our chef coming up with this. These Chicken Wings are marinated in strawberry vinegar with honey and herbs making them buttery soft with a hint of sweetness. Create a fiery contrast by using our hottest chili sauce. This super tasty recipe once again proves that a good fruit vinegar makes an excellent base for a marinade. Naturally you can also put your chicken wings straight on the BBQ, but these Hot ’n Sweet Chicken Wings are a whole different ballgame. The accompanying sauce features the notorious Ghost Chili – the hottest pepper in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records. There is now an even hotter pepper available, but trust us, this one will be more than hot enough …
This vegetarian couscous salad with roasted cauliflower and cherry tomatoes is even tastier than it looks! The secret is the savory, yet sweet Olive & Fig Spread, a typical Mediterranean delicacy.

Scampi Diabolo is truly amazing and yet can be made inside 15 minutes – culinary fast food in other words. The descriptor Diabolo, Italian for devil, refers to the great color and fiery flavor of this dish. Scampo is Italian for a small species of lobster that occurs in the Atlantic and part of the Mediterranean: nephrops norvegicus (Norway lobster). The French call them langoustines. In contrast to what many think, scampi (the plural of scampo) are not (king)prawns. Some restaurants mistakenly have king prawns or other large prawns on the menu as scampi. However, due to overfishing real scampi became very scarce at a certain point in time.
Sabayon – or zabaglione in Italian – is mainly known as a dessert but there are many ways to serve it. With this recipe, you’ll turn it into a delicious dip that makes it difficult to stop eating.
